Final Topic Selection
For my project I chose song of Singapurian artist Nat Miel. Born as a Natasha Yelin Chang she performes her music using nickname Yeule. The music of author combines elements of ambient, glitch, and Asian post-pop. The name Yeule is derived from the same-named (but spelled differently) Final Fantasy character.
The song "Desire" taken from album "Pathos" composed from six songs and was released on December 11, 2016. The genres to which this track is realated are Ambient, Ambient Pop, Wave, Downtempo.
The reason why I choosed this composition is that I desired to experiment with special effects in my video using mixed media and intellectual montage as a main editing techniques. My basic idea is to convey specific feelings and emotions, therefore slow pace, calming ambient music fits my preferences.
The possible Audience
My desire is to reach young, artistic and creative people interested in listening and investigating different genres of techno music. I would like to communicate with viewers who are passionate in finding inventional ideas, meanings and inspirations.
Style of Music
Ambient
Ambient music is a type of music that focuses on tone and environment rather than traditional musical structure or rhythm. It might be missing a net composition, a rhythm, or a structured melody. It employs textured layers of sound to reward both passive and active listening and to promote a state of peace or concentration. It is suggested that the genre evokes a "atmospheric," "visual," or "unobtrusive" feel. Nature soundscapes can be added, and acoustic instruments like the piano, strings, and flute can be recreated with a synthesizer.
Ambient Pop
Ambient Pop possesses a shape and form common to conventional pop, its electronic textures and atmospheres mirror the hypnotic, meditative qualities of ambient and less abrasive. Ambient Pop is distinctive from dream pop that emerged in the wake of the shoegazer movement, by its absorption of contemporary electronic idioms, including sampling, although for the most part live instruments continue to define the sound.
Wave
Wave is an electronic bass music genre and visual art style that arose in online communities in the early 2010s. It has ambient melodies and harmonies, melodic and heavy bass like reese, current trap drums, chopped vocal samples processed with reverb and delay, and arpeggiators. It employs computer-generated images and animation, as well as imagery from video games and cartoons.
Downtempo
Downtempo (or downbeat) is a general term for electronic music with an ambient tone and slower beats than is usual of dance music. Closely connected to ambient music but with a stronger emphasis on rhythm, the style is commonly heard at chillout clubs or as "warm-up or cool-down" music during a DJ set. Trip hop, ambient house, chillwave, psybient, and lo-fi hip hop are examples of downtempo subgenres.

Mixed Media
Splicing and combining animation with text, live pictures, and even live videos results in mixed media videos. Animators often employ a variety of methods and material to produce composite media videos. As a consequence, mixed media videos are distinct since they employ a superb combination of other styles rather than relying just on one media approach or strategy.
Intelectual Montage
An intellectual montage or ideological montage is the editing of footage to produce an intellectual or ideological meaning. An intellectual montage combines images that draw an intellectual meaning -- a metaphor. The feature of Intellectual montage is what viewer able to determine specific meanings and hidden senses by himself involving his own imagination and point of view.
