Editing of Music Video
Editing of the video was for the mist hard process in the whole project. My edit skills are not enough elaborated, therefore my editing is simple and easy. The majority of tools I was using in my editing was jump cut, cross dissolve and reverse speed. As to explain and present the whole process of the video is really complicated, (because it was a path of constant experiments and changes) I will show only essential moments and tools I used in my process to achieve the final result.
Step 1: clip editing
For biggest part of my video I used short cuts of videos and arranged them to the music.
For some video moments I reversed the speed of it trough Clip Speed/Duration tool.
Between video clips I used the cross dissolve to create a smooth transition.
For some moments I used different blend mode to achieve overlay effect.
Step 2: mixed media elements
For mixed media moments I used screenshots of videos which I wanted to transform. For one video excerpt I printed out the scinshots and drew, cut out pieces, tear out and wrinkle the paper for interesting effects. For another moment, I edited screenshots in photoshop adding noise, paper and scratches texture.
For creating amazed media clips I posted pictures into video sequence and in video preview edited and arranged every picture for the frame. Every five seconds I moved the picture in preview to put the next shot for the video.
Step 3: additional details
Some additional elements I applied were captions and textures. Captions I created separately in photoshop and illustrator, editing them as a pictures in the video adding cross dissolve transition. Textures like TV and Camera noise, I added on the topes track and applied Multiply, Screen or Overlay blend mode to achieve specific atmosphere in my video.
